 THE NEWS

  • The Prodigy release Firestarter. Keith Flint becomes a music icon. 

  • Tony Colman and Chris Goss (aka London Elektricity) launch Hospital Records as a vehicle for their own music. Hospital will go on to be one of the seminal British electronic labels for the Drum & Bass scene.

  • Steve Aoki founds Dim Mak Records

  • 2Pac (Tupac Shakur) is fatally shot aged 25 on September 7th in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas

  • Ministry of Sound backs hard-hitting nationwide campaign to encourage youth to vote. 

  • Björk had a near brush with death after she received a sulphuric acid letter bomb hidden in a hollowed out book.

  • Faithless release the seminal album "Reverence"

  • Babylon Zoo’s Spaceman hit the number 1 spot and sold over 1 million copies following its success in a Levis advert.

  • "Dream House" becomes mainstream with acts like Robert Miles and BBE. This paved the way for the whole Trance scene.

  • LTJ Bukem starts his Logical Progression nights. Liquid drum & bass is born.

  • Sasha and Digweed announce their Northern Exposure Tour.

  • Godskitchen begin holding events in Northampton and Coventry.
